Papa John's Celebrates 3,000th Restaurant Opening With Giveaways

Papa John's International, Inc. is giving away its secret ingredients and its signature pizza as part of a promotion touting the opening of its 3,000th restaurant. To start the festivities, Papa John's President/CEO Nigel Travis and Founder/Chairman John Schnatter will ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on July 13, while Papa John's ambassadors will treat morning commuters in Times Square to some 8,000 slices of pizza. "We want to make a splash in the neighborhood," said John Ensign, senior director of marketing and communications for Papa John's. "Our goal is to share some of the things that make Papa John's different-our fresh ingredients." To further celebrate the milestone, Travis and Schnatter will cut a tomato vine (a twist on the standard ribbon cutting ceremony) at the Papa John's restaurant at the corner of 89th Street and Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan to commemorate the chain's 3,000th restaurant this quarter.
