luxe lust: inhabit dress

inhabit is one of my all-time favorite cashmere/knit brands, one i was introduced to whilst toiling away at steven alan. can't drop the cash for the gorgeous linen item pictured above, but you (and your much thicker wallet) should def indulge.

i own one of their super soft fuzzy pink vneck sweaters, as well as a clingy thin deep-v brown knit top. i love (& wear) them to death, but i bought them with a substantial employee discount, so i'm biased.

and i dare you to find a better deal at their nyc sample sale (LAST DAY IS TODAY!)

architect richard meier is offering up a lifetime worth of building models for perusal. his firm has done the getty center here in la, and nytimes.com published a glowing full-blown press release about this marvelous opportunity to peek into meier's brain, but you really only need to read this line:
"Friday visits to Richard Meier’s studio in Queens can be arranged by appointment: (212)967-6060."

p.s. saw p.d.q. bach & the ny philharmonic perform @ avery fisher not long ago. if you're a classical music buff, his live performances are worth a gander.

"I am supposed to do, I’m not supposed to remember!"
-Karl Lagerfeld

he took over chanel in 1983. he is also the hippest grandfather (well, age-wise anyway, not sure if he's spawned any progeny) on the planet. does YOUR gramps like listening to caribou or ratatat or black mountain???

the article that accompanies that quote can be found HERE.

been reading up on biographies lately. in the midst of a slow-going self-proclaimed "spiritual memoir" by sidney poitier and requested the sam walton and warren buffett biographies i left behind in brooklyn from my brother, who has usurped (and lovingly redecorated) my old fort greene apartment.

plus this terrific trek-around-the-globe-in-80-days travel blog sponsored by the magnanimous folks over at conde nast. winning the lottery vs getting picked to go on that trip? no contest.
