sneak a peek at ddb

just got this in the mail...if you can get off from 2-3:30pm on a weekday and live in NYC, i suggest you reserve yourself a spot!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Hi Everyone,

We’d like to invite those of you who attended last March’s panel discussion “Advertising: The Persuaders” for a special visit to advertising giant DDB Worldwide next Wednesday, October 19th from 2:00 to 3:30 pm.

Chairman Keith Reinhard, who was wonderful at last March’s event, will host the visit. We’ll start off with a tour of the office, followed by an in-depth conversation with Mr. Reinhard about careers in advertising.

If you’re an undergraduate or graduate student, we encourage you to join us for this rare opportunity. There will even be food served!

Anyone interested can email us at
info@cencom.org or call us at 212-686-5005. Please note that space is limited, so respond promptly to ensure a spot!
Thanks very much!

only once a year...

...do i get to sample this treat.

imported from the wilds of africa, sultry swooning south africa...or is it australia? agriculturally accidentally amorous australia. it tastes of almonds, not sweet sweet christmas bush, and is packed with tiny bits of bee secretions called "wax".

ok, ok - i wanted to be dirty and talk about "bush" as a euphemism, but i'm not creative enough. or brave enough.
dean & deluca are all-powerful and all-knowing. so make up your own damn pervy story and send it in via comments. thank you! come again!

nothing completes a suit like a furry beast of burden

tom kalenderian - world's happiest llama-lover. and buyer for barney's. and anderson cooper's twin brother? happy friday.

for the mag hounds

not maggie gyllenhaal. though she is frisky fine.

mag as in magazine. as in free magazine.
about the magazine industry. it's called "folio". just make sure you check off enough of the survey boxes to "qualify".

i hope print mags never die out. they make up for those care packages your mom never sent you in college. you save all the subscription renewal post cards too right?

freebizmag.com is also good to me. i've scored complimentary copies of blackbook, budget living, fast company, giant, radar, sync, tennis magazine, and saveur via those gents. material goods make me feel so warm and fizzy fuzzy.

boy genius

my internet bud jonny d keeps showing me up. he's what, 6 yrs younger than me and twice as accomplished? he's published a zine, built buzz for hardcore bands, and landed a job at a posh advertising agency. he might be lying about his age. he must be.

just you wait until i take
my second chance at getting properly edumacated and kick all you pretentious graphic design doo doo dippyheads to 2003 ub313 and back. this generation tapes is his latest project, a streaming showcase of jams that will keep you sane as you wade through the muck of the work day. the boy's got taste. his interactive work for blitz agency ain't half bad either.

props yo. thanks for the inspiration. check out his work. i got nothing better to write about. seriously.

(not a pic of jon. but close enough.)
